We are moving and need your help!!
Carolina Waterfowl Rescue is a local non profit run
entirely by volunteers that takes in over 800 injured
and orphaned waterfowl and other wildlife each year. We
are a registered 501c3 non profit
. You may have heard about us recently in the news
regarding the 29 Canada Geese that were intentionally
sprayed with motor oil like substance. Most of these
were released today in their new home!
We have finally found a home for our pre-release cages
and we will be moving them from our temporary location
in Waxhaw to our new home in Indian Trail. We are in
desperate need of donations of
river rock, sand or
screening and chicken wire. These items are needed for
the new cage areas that we will be building. If you can
help with any of these items, please call us. The costs
of caring for the sprayed Canada geese depleted our very
small emergency fund. If you are able to donate any of
these items we will be happy to post your company on our
website as a donation provider and encourage visitors to
come to your stores.
In addition, we are also seeking food donations for our
volunteers July 25 and 26 when we'll be taking down the
old location, and constructing and setting up the new
location. We'll be serving breakfast and lunch to
approximately 30 volunteers on both days so if you can
help with food, water and drinks, coffee, snacks,
dessert, and paper towels and Wet Wipes (for cleaning
hands), please let us know. If you can volunteer on
these days or at any other time, please let us know.
As always, we count on money and supplies to care for our
orphaned charges. While are goal is to release back
every bird we can, we do have some that were injured so
severely that they cannot survive on their own. We give
these birds a permanent home. Please see our website
www.carolinawaterfowlrescue.com for ways to donate (PayPal
or check/money order).
We are also working with Food Lion. If you have an MVP
card that is not already associated with a school or
other charity, please consider us. Our website has the
information on signing up or you can email us at
waterfowlrescue@aol.com. Please
include your first and last name, phone number, and 12
digit MVP number.
Lastly, here is our wish list:
Play pens, light bulbs, airline dog or cat carriers,
aquariums (cracked ones are OK), astroturf, bleach,
chain link fencing or dog runs, chicken or duck feed,
plain original blue Dawn liquid dish soap, dog houses,
dry cat food, duct tape, fencing and panels, bird seed,
food dishes, gram scales and size scales, hardware
cloth, laundry detergent, antibacterial soap, paper
towels, parrot food, plastic kiddie pools, plastic spray
bottles, trash cans, plywood, shed/portable buildings,

We also take any medical supplies - they do not need to
be sterile.
