Carolina Waterfowl Rescue

Wildlife suffer from a wide range of injuries, illnesses, and problems. Some animals are orphaned or fall from their nests. Others suffer from broken wings, disease, malnutrition, or other afflictions. The overwhelming source of problems are related to human activities, like fishing, fish hooks and fishing line are the number one injury we see at CWR.

Other problems we see are lead shot and sinkers, oil contamination, cat & dog attacks, impact with windows, impact with vehicles, gun shot wounds, pesticide poisoning, habitat loss, and glue boards and rat poison

Some of the injuries are cause by humans trying to care for wildlife without the proper knowledge. Like this Canada Goose. Kept in improper caging he developed severe bumblefoot and keel sores. Which is very painful and hard to treat.
